Born in Keokuk, Iowa and raised in Forest Grove and Salem, Oregon. Marjorie learned responsibility, integrity and ethics at a young age from her father who was also in sales and management. She had the grand opportunity to work for the Department of State in Mogadiscio, Somali Republic (East Africa) and Bangkok, Thailand for over six years. The training and experiences received through this ‘adventure’ has enhanced her understanding and ability to work with cultures from around the world. Marjorie experienced the Somalis receiving their independence from the Italian colonies.
On returning to the United States she worked in Human Resources for a large San Diego aerospace company. She has worked in both the public and private sector. Marjorie has held a California real estate license since 1973, earning her Real Estate Broker License in 1979. She is a high energy, take-charge Realtor® respected by her peers as well as her Clients (See Testimonials). She has received many honors from the real estate industry including the coveted Award of Excellence Realtor® of the Year and Volunteer of the Year from the San Diego Association of Realtors® and Honorary Director for Life from the California Association of Realtors®. She has also been recognized for her Community Service with the Outstanding Service Award from the Clairemont High Parent Teachers Association and the Howard Steiner Award from the Kiwanis International.
Marjorie has mentored many new and experienced agents both in the office and from other offices. She is a Real Estate Instructor of Continuing Education and College Level courses and Author of Continuing Education classes. She also practices what she teaches – keep educating yourself to be the best Realtor® you can be. She has taken time between clients to earn the professional real estate designations:
